WEBTOON Entertainment Named to Fast Company’s Annual List of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2026

LOS ANGELES - WEBTOON Entertainment Inc. (NASDAQ: WBTN), a leading global entertainment company and home to some of the world's largest storytelling platforms, has been named to Fast Company’s prestigious annual list of the Most Innovative Companies for 2026. As the global leader in webcomics, WEBTOON Entertainment was ranked No. 4 in the Media and News category. This marks WEBTOON Entertainment’s second recognition on the list, highlighting the company’s continued growth and innovation.
This year’s list shines a spotlight on businesses that are shaping industry and culture through their innovations. Alongside the World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies, Fast Company recognizes 720 honorees across 59 sectors and regions.

Since pioneering the webcomic format 20 years ago, WEBTOON has sparked a cultural movement among Gen Z by making it easy for creators to publish and share their stories with global audiences. WEBTOON Entertainment’s powerful IP & Creator Ecosystem has paid out billions to creators around the world, including $2.7 billion to creators globally from 2021 to 2025. The company is investing more than $47 million in creator support and content discovery in 2026, reinforcing its commitment to a creator-first ecosystem.
In 2025, WEBTOON Entertainment cemented its global leadership in webcomics through a number of impactful initiatives, including bringing the biggest names in comics and entertainment to its platform by adding major franchises like Stranger Things, The Witcher, Godzilla, and iconic manga Fullmetal Alchemist.
With studios in the US and Korea, WEBTOON Entertainment’s IP and entertainment business has a growing slate of global film and TV projects, with adaptations spanning major studios and top talent. Upcoming projects include a live-action adaptation of the hit webcomic Stagtown in partnership with Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap, as well as Death of a Pop Star with Oscar winner Diablo Cody, and Love Advice from the Great Duke of Hell with Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment. In animation, the company’s anime and animation slate features projects with Crunchyroll, Toei Animation, and Aniplex, as well as a 10-project deal with Warner Bros. Animation. Prime Video recently greenlit Lore Olympus, an upcoming animated series adaptation based on the globally popular webcomic with over 1.8 billion views, in collaboration with The Jim Henson Company.
WEBTOON Entertainment’s product innovations are redefining digital comics and storytelling for a new generation. In 2025, WEBTOON transformed comic discovery by introducing AI-powered personalized recommendations, making the experience more like browsing Netflix. WEBTOON has also expanded into short form video with Video Episodes, bringing webcomics to life through motion, sound effects, music and voice acting. The feature gives fans the option to either read or watch webcomic episodes on its English-language platform. In Korea, its Cuts feature offers UGC short-form video that enables webcomic creators and fans to create, upload, and enjoy short-form animated videos about their favorite NAVER WEBTOON series.
