LINE MANGA's webcomic "Teenage Mercenary" surpassed KRW 1.6 billion in GMV in September

WEBTOON's webcomic "Teenage Mercenary" is a huge hit in Japan.
WEBTOON announced that its webcomic "Teenage Mercenary" (written/ drawn by YC/Rakyeon), which is being serialized on Japanese language service LINE MANGA, has surpassed KRW 1.63 billion (JPY 180 million) in GMV in September. This is the largest monthly GMV for a single title on LINE MANGA this year.
“Teenage Mercenary” follows Ijin Yu, the sole survivor of a plane crash who has been living as a "mercenary" while developing advanced combat skills, as he returns to South Korea to reunite with his family and solve various cases. It debuted in 2020 and has remained at the top of the popularity charts in South Korea ever since.
In Japan, the series has been serialized on LINE MANGA since 2021 and has grown in popularity with its fresh storyline and excellent action artwork that combines military action and classroom drama. In April 2022, the title surpassed 70 million cumulative views on LINE MANGA, and in October 2023, it set a new record of over 300 million views. In 2022, it was ranked #2 on the LINE MANGA Men's Ranking and #1 on the LINE MANGA Overall Ranking last October.
"Teenage Mercenary" is available in 9 languages, including English and French, as well as Korean and Japanese, and has been very well received by readers around the world, growing into a global IP with over 1.1 billion cumulative views.
